Week 5 – Learning though games

For this week we have to create an idea for a game that can teach the player a lesson. We have to start with a Learning Aim, what Learning Outcomes are needed to achieve that aim and an “achievement” or badge that the learner could be awarded for completing an outcome. This also needs to have Gameplay Description and Storyboard.

The Learning Aim of this game is to teach Maths, counting and grouping skills to young children, with the Outcomes being they will be able to add small numbers together and recognise an amount from different objects. The achievement will be called One of my five a day which will be rewarded to anyone who can answer the questions correctly.

Gameplay Description

A fruit counting game where the player needs to complete some questions about adding different quantities based around counting fruit, the player will be able to move the fruit around to help them count and group the fruit to find the answer.
