For planning the lesson we need to create some storyboards so that we can plan out what is going to happen with the lesson as well as plan out ideas for what happens in the lesson as well. There are two types of Storyboards, I will be calling one type a “Timeline” storyboard and the other type a “Walkthrough” storyboard.
Timeline Storyboard

A timeline of what will happen for the entire lesson which works a bit like a timetable for a day. It plans out what will happen in what order. It is also colour coded so that the different steps can be grouped together.
For the timeline storyboard being shown here any square coloured purple is a learning section, any square coloured green is an activity (for this it is an e-tivity) and any square coloured yellow is an assessment.
The benefits of a Timeline storyboard is that it is easier to modify any changes that need to be made, it is also colour coded this make it easier to follow the order and see what is occurring during each stage.
Walkthrough
StoryboardA walkthrough of what will happen in a specific task, using last week’s example the task of answering a question given to the learner, with this type of storyboard we are lead through a list of steps for completing a task in a way that shows how it should be done.
The benefit of a Walkthrough storyboard is that it is more detailed as it is a step by step demonstration for a specific stage within the Timeline storyboard.
